Strawberry is the delicate queen of fruits. Its taste is very delicious
but shelf life is shorter. Turkey holds the 4th position in the
worldwide strawberry production after china, USA and Mexican.
Strawberry which is produced 440000 tons in Turkey 4,8% of the
World. Bursa ranks 3rd in Turkey by occupies 111% of strawberry
production of Turkey. Strawberry is the most common berry in
Turkey because of growing is very old years.
Black Fig
This geographical mark certified product
is only being cultivated in Bursa.
Turkey is the 1st country in World fig production and exportation.
The most favourite one is Bursa Black Fig, which is grown in araound
40 villages in Bursa and registered in 1990 by the Ministry of Food,
Agriculture and Livestock is an important export product taking
its place near the top in Turkish fruit exports. This geographical
mark certified product is only being cultivated in Bursa.
Cherry
Turkey is the leader cherry
producer of the world.
Turkey ranks 1st in the world cherry production. Cherry is a variety
of fruit cultivated widwly over the country. The cherry production
is the first agricultural production activity in Turkey, where HACCP
and EUROGAP standards required by the European supermarkets
are applied. The production made according these standards
shows an upward trend country-wide. Bursa ranks 3rd in Turkey
by occupies 8% of cherry production of Turkey.
Quince
We are the leader quince
producer of the world.
Turkey ranks 1st in the world quince production by producing the
quarter of the total production nearly 100 thousand tons. Bursa
ranks 2nd in Turkey by occupies 8% of quince production of
Turkey. Quince is a slightly fruit having a yellow skin, wonderful
smell, firm flesh and delightful sourish flavour. The domestic
varieties of high quality are exported. Its season is September to
November. Apart from these months, the quinces which are cold
storaged are offered to markets.
Peach
Bursa is the homeland of peaches.
Turkish peach production takes an important place in world
peach production and export. Bursa is the homeland of peaches.
Bursa occupies 15% of peach production of Turkey. The export
of peach which is exported in an average of 120 thousand tons
each year and is among the symbol products of Bursa. Variety of
Bursa peach called «yarma» with a firm flesh. This variety has a
high aroma, excellent smell and very attractive look. In addition
to fresh consumption, spesific varieties are produced for canning
and fruit juice.
Olive
40% of the table olive production of
Turkey comes from Bursa.
Turkey is the 4th producer of the olive and olive oil in the world.
Turkey’s avarege share of world olive production is between
7-10 %. In Turkey, there are approximately 85 million olive tree.

Santa Maria Pear

maria pear produced per year in Bursa. Its season is July to
August. Apart from these months, the pears which are cold

Deveci Pear
This product, which is cultivated in Bursa,
is characterized with its delicious aroma

size. Generally its weight is 400 gr, but its up to 1 kg. 45.000 tons
deveci pear produced per year in Bursa. Its exported to Russia,
Saudi Arabia and European countries. Its season is September to
November. Apart from these months, the pears which are cold
storaged are offered to markets.
Nectarines
Nectarine which likes to peach is hairless, colours close
to red, taste is more sourish, less watery. Also harder,
longer road resistance, shelf life and smaller size.
Nectarine is produced 122.000 tons in Turkey. Bursa
ranks 3rd in Turkey by occupies 18,8% of nectarine
production of Turkey.
Raspberry
Bursa ranks 1st in Turkey by occupies 97,8% of
raspberry production of Turkey.
Raspberry is a kind of berry that gives red and sweet Fruits in
summer and autumn season. This fragrant and healthy fruit has
more than 120 varieties. One of the most popular variety is Polka.
It is considered the best dessert variety in Europe. It is the most
suitable raspberry genus for export with its aroma, durability and
flavor. In Turkey its produced 5800 tons.
Blueberry
Bursa ranks 3rd in Turkey by occupies
25% of blueberry production of Turkey.
Bluberries are being popular worldwide in recent years and are
cultivated in low ph areas with mild climate. After the 2000s,
reached Turkey has launched fresh fruit in 2003. It is very useful
in terms of health and is used in thepharmaceutical industry. It is
very high antioxidant content. In Turkey its produced 375 tons.
Bursa Chestnut
Chestnut which is produced more than 3 thousand tons in average
annually is exported to many countries in particıular to France, Italy, Saudi
Arabia, Israel şn form of “candied chestnut”. There are large and small 250 enterprises manufacturing candied chestnut or chestnut chocolate from chestnut which is called as the “fruit of grief” due to the season it is harvested and called by the public as “the bread of mountains”.
